EMPOWERMENT OF ELDERLY CADRE GROWING EMERGENCY RESPONSE BEHAVIOR OF CLIENTS WITH RESPIRATORY ARREST AND CARDIAC ARREST AT COVID-19 PANDEMIC

ABSTRACT

Respiratory arrest is the cessation of spontaneous breathing due to partial or complete airway obstruction caused by respiratory center disturbances and airway obstruction, while cardiac arrest is a sudden cessation of blood circulation due to contracting heart failure. The purpose of this community service is to provide cadres experience in dealing with patients, especially elderly patients during cardiac arrest and cardiac arrest. The method used is discussion and question and answer as well as cadre assistance in carrying out promotive efforts to the community, while maintaining the COVID-19 prevention health protocol. The media used were booklets and flipcharts and pantomimes to convey health information about basic life support. The results of the post-test and pre-test were analyzed using Paired sample t-Test analysis and obtained a significance value of 0.000. This shows that the provision of counseling and simulation of Basic Life Support for ordinary people has a significant effect on the level of knowledge of participants. There are enough categories of participants into 2, namely < 79 =, > 80 = good. Of the 30 participants who got the good category as many as 21 people and 9 people got enough. This is to provide counseling about basic life support which greatly affects the level of knowledge of participants about the material.

ABSTRAK

Henti napas adalah berhentinya pernapasan spontan karena sumbatan jalan napas sebagian atau seluruhnya atau disebabkan oleh gangguan pusat pernapasan dan obstruksi jalan napas, sedangkan henti jantung adalah berhentinya sirkulasi darah normal secara tiba-tiba akibat gagal jantung untuk berkontraksi. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah dilakukan untuk memberikan bekal pengalaman kader dalam pengelolaan pasien khususnya pasien lansia pada kasus pasien henti nafas dan henti jantung. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan diskusi dan tanya jawab serta pendampingan kader dalam melakukan upaya promotif kepada masyarakat, dan tetap mempertahankan protokol kesehatan pencegahan covid-19. Media yang digunakan yaitu booklet dan lembar balik dan pantom untuk penyampaian informasi kesehatan mengenai bantuan hidup dasar. Hasil post test dan pre test dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis paired sample t-Test dan diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian penyuluhan dan simulasi tentang Bantuan Hidup Dasar untuk orang awam berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat pengetahuan peserta. Kategori Peserta dibedakan menjadi 2 yaitu < 79 = cukup, >80= baik. Dari 30 peserta yang memperoleh kategori baik adalah 21 orang dan 9 orang memperoleh cukup. Hal ini mengindikasikan pemberian penyuluhan mengenai bantuan hidup dasar sangat mempengaruhi tingkat pengetahuan peserta mengenai materi tersebut.
