IMPROVING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE ACCURACY OF SELF-MEDICATION OF ANALGESIC IN STUDENTS
Abstract
Self-medication is a self-medication action carried out by all students, including pain treatment. The purpose of implementing community service (PkM) is to increase student's knowledge about self-medication for pain in students. This PkM method is through providing socialization and education to students related to painkillers and the stages in carrying out self-medication, in addition to presentations, leaflets are also distributed to students. The results showed that the level of students' knowledge of self-medication for painkillers, namely at the time of the pre-test was classified as good (4%), sufficient (6%), and lacking 90%), after community service in the form of education, the results of the pre-test of students' knowledge of self-medication for painkillers increased to be classified as good (88%), sufficient (6%), and lacking (6%). Based on the results of the Wilcoxon Test, the p-value = 0.000 <α value 0.05) indicates that there is an effect of providing education on students' knowledge of self-medication for painkillers.
