PENGARUH PEMBERIAN JUS RUMPUT LAUT TERHADAP KADAR GULA DARAH: STUDI PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI WILAYAH PESISIR

ABSTRAK
Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 merupakan masalah kesehatan kronis yang prevalensinya terus meningkat, khususnya di wilayah pesisir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian jus rumput laut terhadap kadar gula darah pada pasien Diabetes Melitus tipe 2. Desain penelitian menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan pretest dan posttest nonequivalent control group. Sampel sebanyak 60 orang dibagi menjadi kelompok intervensi dan kontrol, masing-masing 30 orang, yang diperoleh melalui teknik non-purposive sampling. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat penurunan signifikan kadar gula darah pada kelompok intervensi (p = 0.000), sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol tidak signifikan (p = 0.133). Rata-rata kadar gula darah kelompok intervensi menurun dari 241,80 mg/dl menjadi 197,90 mg/dl, sedangkan kelompok kontrol hanya turun dari 270,27 mg/dl menjadi 269,97 mg/dl. Pemberian jus rumput laut efektif menurunkan kadar gula darah pada pasien DM tipe 2. Hasil ini dapat menjadi rekomendasi dalam praktik keperawatan komunitas untuk pemanfaatan intervensi nonfarmakologis berbasis sumber daya lokal, terutama di daerah pesisir.

ABSTRACT
. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic health issue with increasing prevalence, particularly in coastal areas. This study aimed to determine the effect of seaweed juice on blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. The research used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group approach. A total of 60 respondents were selected using non-purposive sampling and divided into two groups: 30 in the intervention group and 30 in the control group. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a significant decrease in blood glucose levels in the intervention group (p = 0.000), while no significant change was observed in the control group (p = 0.133). The average blood glucose level in the intervention group decreased from 241.80 mg/dl to 197.90 mg/dl, while in the control group it decreased slightly from 270.27 mg/dl to 269.97 mg/dl. Seaweed juice was proven effective in lowering blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. This finding suggests seaweed juice may serve as a community nursing intervention using locally available resources in coastal regions.
